What counts as filler?
Filler is an episode with no basis in the source manga or light novel, added so the anime does not overtake its source. Episodes that mix original and adapted material are counted separately as mixed, and are not included in the filler totals here.
Does skipping filler break the story?
For pure filler, no — that is what makes it filler. Mixed episodes are the ones to be careful with, since they contain canon material alongside original scenes, which is why we track them as their own category rather than lumping them in.
