About
A teenager from the Sphere’s slums, descended from criminals and treated as one on sight. He scavenges the rubbish everyone else throws away, which is exactly why he can hear it: Rudo is a Giver, able to wake the soul sleeping inside a used object. Framed for the murder of his foster father Regto and thrown into the Pit, he takes up the gloves Regto gave him as his Vital Instrument and starts fighting his way back toward the people who put him there.

Who is Rudo in Gachiakuta?
The protagonist. A slum kid from the floating city called the Sphere, descended from criminals and treated as one by default, who collects the rubbish everyone else discards. He is a Giver — able to wake the soul inside a used object — and after being framed for his foster father's murder and thrown into the Pit, he fights his way up through the Ground with Regto's gloves as his Vital Instrument.
Why was Rudo thrown into the Pit?
He was framed for the murder of Regto, the man who raised him. Rudo's ancestry made him the obvious suspect in a city that already assumed the worst of him, and the real killer was the masked figure he remembers only as the Angel.
What is Rudo's Vital Instrument?
The pair of gloves Regto gave him, designated "3R". A Vital Instrument is an ordinary possession that has been used and cared for so long it developed a soul; a Giver can draw that soul out and fight with it.
