The captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and protagonist. Luffy ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit, making his body like rubber. The crew's sharpshooter and a self-proclaimed warrior of the sea. Despite a fearful nature, Usopp repeatedly steps up when his friends are in danger. His father is a member of Shanks' crew. He is the crew's inventor and his combat style relies on ingenuity, marksmanship, and projectile weapons.

The crew's archaeologist. Robin ate the Flower-Flower Devil Fruit, allowing her to sprout copies of her body parts anywhere within range. The sole survivor of the destroyed island Ohara, she spent decades as a fugitive before finding her place with the Straw Hats.

The crew's shipwright. A cyborg who rebuilt his own body using ship-dismantling technology, giving himself superhuman strength and built-in weapons. He built the Thousand Sunny and dreams of building a ship that sails to the end of the world.

The crew's musician and swordsman. A living skeleton who ate the Revive-Revive Devil Fruit. Flamboyant and gentleman-like, Brook was once the captain of the Rumbar Pirates and waited alone for decades for Laboon.

The crew's helmsman. A whale shark fishman and former Warlord of the Sea. A master of Fishman Karate, he is calm, experienced, and deeply principled. He formally joined the Straw Hats during the Whole Cake Island arc.

The crew's doctor. A reindeer who ate the Human-Human Devil Fruit, gaining human intelligence and the ability to transform. Chopper studied under the legendary Dr. Hiluluk and later Dr. Kureha, becoming a skilled physician with multiple transformation forms.

One of the Four Emperors of the Sea and Luffy's greatest inspiration. Shanks gave Luffy his iconic straw hat and lost his arm protecting him. His influence on every major event in the series is immense.

Luffy's sworn older brother and a member of the Whitebeard Pirates. Ace ate the Flame-Flame Devil Fruit. His fate during the Marineford arc represents one of the most emotionally devastating moments in the series.
