Amaterasu

Description

A Mangekyo Sharingan technique that produces inextinguishable black flames wherever the user looks. Named after the Shinto sun goddess. The flames cannot be put out by any known means and burn until the target is completely consumed. Only the user themselves can extinguish Amaterasu.

Inextinguishable flames; targets wherever the eye looks; burns for seven days and nights

  • Sasuke uses Amaterasu in his left eye; Itachi used it in his right
  • The flames are described as burning "hotter than the sun"
  • Extended use damages the user's eye
