The first Yu-Gi-Oh! opening theme is "Kawaita Sakebi (Wild Drive)" by Field of View, playing during Eps 1–49 (Japanese). Fondly remembered by Japanese fans who watched the original broadcast. The rock style predated the more pop-oriented international theme.
"Kawaita Sakebi (Wild Drive)" is performed by Field of View. Field of View is a Japanese rock band whose original opening for the Japanese broadcast is largely unknown in the West, where the dubbed version had entirely different music.
