His cold, ruthless approach to Aogiri's operations and his quiet pursuit of vengeance for his brother's death at CCG's hands give him a personal motivation beneath his organizational role. His final confrontation with Seidou Takizawa—both transformed by trauma and Aogiri's experimentation into things beyond human or ordinary ghoul—is one of re:TG's most charged and emotionally exhausting sequences.
