Yuuki Konno, known as Zekken (the Absolute Sword), is the champion of Sleeping Knights guild who contracted HIV through a blood transfusion and spent most of her life in hospital, experiencing the world almost entirely through VR where her terminal illness gave her no disadvantage. She taught Asuna the Original Sword Skill she used as her legacy and inspired the entire Sleeping Knights guild with her absolute commitment to living fully despite approaching death. Her passing, surrounded by the friends she made in virtual worlds where her illness was invisible, is one of the most emotionally powerful deaths in SAO and one of the series' most direct engagements with disability and mortality.
