Sugou Nobuyuki, known in ALfheim Online as Oberon the Fairy King, is a RECT Progress executive who illegally trapped 300 SAO survivors including Asuna in ALO after the game's liberation, conducting illegal brain manipulation experiments on them using the converted NerveGear to research emotional control. His position as Asuna's arranged fiancé in the real world gave him real-world power to exploit alongside his in-game administrative control, making him the Fairy Dance Arc's most viscerally threatening antagonist. His defeat by Kirito—using Kayaba's admin credentials to strip Oberon's invincibility in his own game—is one of SAO's most cathartic confrontations.
