This opening arc follows Oga's rise to dominance over Ishiyama's ruling delinquent quartet, the Tōhōshinki.

Episodes 37-60 continue escalating threats to Baby Beel, including Oga's demon-familiar Hilda being swallowed by the dragon Sodom before being freed in episode 59. The anime ended abruptly on March 25, 2012 with episode 60, leaving the story unresolved compared to Ryuhei Tamura's manga, which continued afterward — no second season was ever produced.
