“Yume wo miru no wa... katte ni shiro. Sore ga saigo ni naru.”
English: “You can dream all you want... that's your business. It will be your last.”
Crocodile's dismissive contempt for idealism — he sees himself as the logical outcome of a world where power is the only truth.
Techniques & Signature Moves
Crocodile slices his hand through the ground, generating a blade of sand that cuts forward through anything — earth, stone, and flesh — desiccating and crumbling whatever it passes through. He used this to split the entire royal palace's underground structure at Alabasta.
Crocodile generates a massive sand tornado that engulfs everything in its path — desiccating organic matter, shredding objects into dust, and making escape virtually impossible. His ultimate area technique and the most visible demonstration of his Logia's true destructive scale.
Frequently Asked Questions — Sir Crocodile
Updated 2026
Who is Crocodile?
Sir Crocodile was the leader of Baroque Works (alias Mr. 0) and a former Warlord of the Sea. He secretly orchestrated a coup in Alabasta while posing as a hero. He later joined the Impel Down escapees and fought at Marineford.
What is Crocodile's Devil Fruit?
Crocodile ate the Suna Suna no Mi (Sand-Sand Fruit), a Logia that allows him to become and control sand. His right hook dehydrates anything it touches. Only liquids (water, blood) can neutralize his sand and prevent him from dispersing.
How did Luffy beat Crocodile?
Luffy used water and his own blood to prevent Crocodile from dispersing into sand, allowing physical hits to land. The final blow used Luffy's blood-coated arm punching through the ground to launch Crocodile upward. This was one of Luffy's first truly clever battle victories.
Is Crocodile a villain?
Crocodile is initially a major villain who nearly kills Luffy three times in Alabasta. After his defeat and imprisonment in Impel Down, he becomes a reluctant anti-hero — escaping prison with Luffy's help and fighting in the Marineford War. His motivations remain self-serving throughout.
