Wapol is the former tyrannical king of Drum Island who consumed the Baku Baku no Mi allowing him to eat anything and incorporate it into his body or fuse objects and people together, and who fled his kingdom upon Blackbeard's arrival before being defeated by Luffy who liberated Drum Island. After his defeat and exile, he reinvented himself as a toy manufacturer using his fruit to create 'Wapometal,' becoming wealthy enough to marry Miss Universe and eventually ascend to a seat at the World Economic Council. His arc from petty tyrant to absurd capitalist success story is one of One Piece's most genuinely funny long-running gags about how villainy and ambition find outlets.
