The co-developer with Vegapunk of the Lineage Factor genetic science, he pursued power and restored monarchy at the cost of his children's humanity. His arrogance, his complete failure to understand the son he discarded, and his final humiliation in the wedding escape underscore why Sanji chose the Straw Hats as his true family.
