The creator of SMILE artificial Devil Fruits and a key supplier to Doflamingo's operations, he conducted sadistic experiments on children under the guise of research on his island of poisonous gas. Despite being thoroughly defeated and repeatedly humiliated, his scientific genius makes him a reluctant but irreplaceable resource for whichever faction holds him captive.
