Black Maria is one of the Flying Six of the Beast Pirates, an enormous spider-woman hybrid who wields the Kumo Kumo no Mi: Model Rosamygale Grauvogeli, allowing her to transform into a massive ancient spider capable of spinning immobilizing webs and using her flames to create devastating attacks. She operates the banquet hall of Onigashima as a geisha-themed entertainment manager with a predatory streak, having defeated and captured Sanji in her web after he called for Robin. Her fight against Robin and Brook revealed Robin's new Demonio Fleur awakening and one of the arc's most visually stunning power displays.
