Catchphrases & Famous Quotes
“Ore ni dekiru koto wa, tada issho ni manabi, issho ni kaeru koto dake da!”
English: “The only things I can do are learn together and grow together!”
Lee's earnest declaration of his philosophy — he cannot use ninjutsu or genjutsu, so he throws everything into taijutsu and hard work.
“Seishun! Seishun! Seishun!”
English: “Youth! Youth! Youth!”
Lee and Guy's shared declaration of their 'springtime of youth' philosophy — their theatrical enthusiasm for growth and hard work through physical training.
Techniques & Signature Moves
Lee wraps his bandages around an opponent and launches upward with them, spinning rapidly before driving them headfirst into the ground. A dangerous technique that puts tremendous strain on Lee's body due to the opened gate it requires.
Lee's most powerful technique — he opens the first six of the Eight Inner Gates, granting exponentially increased speed and power, then launches his opponent skyward with a series of devastating strikes before smashing them into the earth. The training weights he removes have flattened the terrain around him from the shockwave alone.
The eight chakra gates restrict the body's natural limits as a self-protection mechanism. By forcibly opening them, Lee (and Guy) can achieve power beyond any other human — but at increasing physical cost. Full eight-gate release (Gate of Death) is fatal to the user.
