The protagonist — a hyperactive, loud, and deeply kind ninja who carries the Nine-Tails Fox sealed within him. Ostracized by the village that fears the demon inside him, Naruto's goal of becoming Hokage is as much about earning acknowledgment as it is about achievement. His strength comes from sheer refusal to give up.

The lone survivor of the Uchiha clan, wiped out by his older brother Itachi. Sasuke's sole motivation is to grow powerful enough to avenge his clan. Cold, gifted, and driven, his rivalry with Naruto forms the emotional core of the series.

Team 7's third member. Initially defined by her crush on Sasuke, Sakura grows significantly across the series into a skilled medical ninja. Her early characterization is a common point of critique; her later development is widely praised.

Team 7's jounin sensei. Legendary in the ninja world for his Sharingan eye, the Copy Ninja who has memorized over a thousand jutsu. Behind his aloof exterior is a man shaped by profound loss who pours genuine care into his students.
