Kisame Hoshigaki is a member of the Akatsuki partnered with Itachi Uchiha, a former member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist who wields the living shark-sword Samehada which absorbs chakra from opponents and grows stronger. Known as the Tailless Tailed Beast for his enormous chakra reserves and shark-like appearance, he was one of the most feared shinobi of his generation. His pride, his dark humor, and his final act of defeating himself before revealing information make him one of the Akatsuki's most memorable and strangely honorable members.
