Danzo Shimura is the Foundation commander and founder of Root, a covert black-ops branch of Konoha's shinobi forces, a man who spent his life believing in absolute security through power and darkness rather than the idealism of the Third Hokage. His arm, implanted with ten Sharingan eyes and Hashirama's cells, and his own eye replaced with a stolen Sharingan of Shisui, embodied his willingness to steal, manipulate, and sacrifice others for his vision of Konoha's survival. His role in ordering Itachi's massacre of the Uchiha clan and his final confrontation with Sasuke made him Shippuden's most systemically villainous figure.
