Naoya Zen'in is a member of the Zen'in clan, one of the three great jujutsu families, and one of the series' most unreconstructed expressions of the worst aspects of clan politics: sexist, status-obsessed, and convinced that hereditary cursed technique rather than merit determines a person's worth. His Projection Sorcery technique divides space into 24 frames per second and locks opponents in frozen stasis if they fail to move within the prescribed frame structure. His utter contempt for Maki before her power transformation—and his catastrophic defeat at her hands after her Heavenly Restriction awakened—served as JJK's most satisfying single-combat power statement.
