   The core story: Lelouch gains his Geass, forms the Black Knights, and leads the Black Rebellion. Ends on a major cliffhanger. No filler — every episode is essential.

   R2 — Episodes 26–50Required

   The conclusion: Lelouch returns without memories, conquers the world as Emperor, and executes the Zero Requiem. R2 episodes are stored as episodes 26–50 in this guide.

   Akito the Exiled (OVA, 5 parts)Optional

   Set between R1 and R2 in a different part of the world (EU). Features different characters. Watch after finishing R2 — contains minor spoilers for R2 events. Optional but enjoyable.

   Lelouch of the Re;surrection (2019 Film)Optional

   A direct sequel that confirms Lelouch's survival. Watch only after completing R2. Answers the biggest question the series left open.
