Barragan Louisenbairn is the Segunda Espada and the self-proclaimed God-King of Hueco Mundo before Aizen's arrival, whose Resurrección Arrogante releases an Respira—an aura of absolute aging that causes anything it contacts to rapidly decay into nothing. Once the actual ruler of Hueco Mundo who submitted to Aizen only under threat of the Hogyoku's power, his burning contempt for Aizen as a usurper who dethroned him made his entire time among the Espada covertly an exercise in suppressed regicide. His death—turning his own Respira against Aizen and finding it ultimately ineffective—closed his arc with the bitter irony that even death by his own power couldn't reach the man he despised.
